Pics of the Las Vegas Sphere – and books

    October 20, 2023 /
Las Vegas Sphere lit up like a yellow emoji with a surprised face

I bailed on blogging again last week, and it wasn’t even for a boring reason like work or a writing deadline. I went to Vegas! I’ve been getting back into a regular reading groove and finished a nice mix of books since my last book post…

The August wrap-up: Steel Panther and gastroenterology fun

    September 2, 2023 /

But first: This post is part of the Weekend Coffee Share hosted by Natalie the Explorer and What’s Been on Your Calendar hosted by  Sue, Donna, Jo and Deb. Have a seat, grab a box of Extra Toasty Cheez-Its, and let’s get this party started. My poem is a finalist! First up: writing news. My poem, “Mourning…

Good morning, happy Friday, and welcome to the Weekend Coffee Share, hosted by Natalie the Explorer (whose pics are always gorgeous, but this week’s are *incredible*). I’m going to kick off this week’s post with: Writing news A couple of weeks ago, I was grousing about my lack of writing news. I had several pieces on submission plus a pending application to a writing retreat, and I was getting just a tad impatient (if you consider refreshing GMail every 1.3 seconds, “a tad impatient”). Well, I still have a bunch of things pending, but: My Christmas horror story got accepted! It will be published in the 2021 Deathlehem anthology, which…

Seen at the Red Cross blood donation center in #tucson . I think they took a little too much from this guy. Seriously, give blood if you can. You might save a life.
