Velvet-pod Mimosa (Mimosa dysocarpa)

Mimosa is a stunning beauty. I can’t recall ever seeing one in person.

I’d never seen this kind until this year. I’m still learning the flora here in the desert, and this has been a weird year with all the summer rain, so things are sprouting that the locals say they don’t usually see.
